Your first Speech: Atma Parchaya

Worrying about finding a topic? Worrying about what to write on the topic?

No Worries! Speak about yourself. Nobody knows this topic better than you!

Write down whatever comes in to your mind. Remember, no self censuring.

Write down important events in your life

Write down funny events in your life

write about hobbies, interests, marriage, children

Organise your speech about yourself in a chronological order. Start writing about your childhood, schooling, college life, professional life..and so on

Write down the message you want to convey to the audience

You are ready. Now, I am sure you have wrote more than 1000 words.

Reduce it to 600 words.

Remove the fat.. Include only relevant and interesting points. This makes your speech interesting to the audience

Rehearse your speech in front of your friend/ mentor

This speech will help you achieve three aims..

  1. Introduce yourself.
  2. Begin to conquer the fear of speaking in front of a group.
  3. Provide a “base line” of your current strengths and weaknesses.
Good Luck..
