Your Second Speech at YEP : Bhashana Ghatana

Congratulations on completing your first speech.
You were very confident in your first speech for three reasons

1. You talked about a subject which you know very well
2.  No one else knows that subject as much as you know
3. You organised your speech in a chronological order- so it was easy to recollect and present confidently

In your second speech you will be focusing on organizing a speech.

There are mainly three types of organizing the body of the speech 

1. Chronologically organised
2. Geographically organised
3. Three supporting points structure

Besides the Body of the speech, there should be an effective speech opening and effective speech closing

Now start writing your speech as described below

1. Write the conclusion of your speech first!

This is what you want to tell the audience finally. This contains your message. So write the end of the speech first!

2. Write down three supporting points to reinforce the concluding message of your speech. ( This is called the classic three structure, most widely used by speakers).

3. Write an effective opening which  leads to the body of the speech and  to the  message you want to convey finally. You can start with a relevant quotation, relevant anecdote or a relevant event or....

Next steps..

1. Whatever is not relevant to the topic, whatever is not needed as far as the topic is concerned, (fat) remove it. No mercy.
2. Rehearse and rewrite your speech
3. Consult with your friends. If they dont like it, chances are that the audience also will not like it.
If they like it, ask for suggestions to improve

Selecting the topic for your speech

Select a topic which you know very well
and the audience wanted to know about it and you are interested to talk about it

Any subject under the sun.. but you should be able to organize it

Finally...

A well organised speech is easy to remember and easy to recollect. Are you able to memorize your speech? Will the audience be able to remember it? Do the opening and conclusion help to reinforce the message you want to convey? 
If your answer is Yes, you are ready for your speech 2.
